DIW15: Functional MRI workshop

Date & Time: February, 24-25, 2016, Wed 13:15-17:15, Thurs 8:00-12:00

Venue: Department of Radiology & MRI section and Radiology Conference Room, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center

Coordinator: Ahmad Masawi, MSc, Department of Radiology, KFSH&RC, Pager: 49619

Workshop Faculty:
Jamaan Al-Ghamdi, PhD, Rafat Mohtasib, PhD, Khalid ALShalali, MS
Target Audience :
  • MRI technologist, physicist, Radiologist, Neuroscience and Neurosurgeon physicians

Prerequisites:  None

Workshop Description:

This combined theoretical and hands on session will introduce to the participants the physics behind fMRI, acquiring paradigms and post processing highlighted by Dr. Jamaan AlGhamdi for about 45min before the hands-on. The course will include theoretical part in the form of lecture/talk and hands on part.We will be able to accommodate 12 participants at one time. The course will be repeated to accommodate up to 60 participants.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will gain understanding of the fundamentals behind fMRI, be able to create their own paradigms and apply them to scanning, and post-process the data. Designed for the beginning users, this offering will discuss the technical aspects of functional MRI. Scanning of a volunteer, using paradigm set-up and post-processing of the data, will also be covered with the Attendees
