Workshop Description:

The workshop will be a review and update of important selected gastrointestinal topics from the pharynx to the colon in eighteen 20 minute presentations. Some presentations will be an overview of a broad subject such as pharyngeal dysphagia with critical anatomy, diagnoses, and key points. Some, such as the radiology of morbid obesity surgery 1 & 2, will be in-depth presentations going deeply into the details of one to four related topics. Each of the four workshop periods, two on Wednesday and two on Thursday, will conclude with a presentation of unknown cases. There will be an opportunities for questions during and after the workshop presentations.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  1. Understand the causes and appearances of pharyngeal dysphagia
  2. Recognize and stage esophageal traumas using CT and Fluoroscopy
  3. Recognize all of the different Bariatric Surgeries and the pathologic processes that occur in each different surgery
  4. Know how to distinguish pelvic hernia types with CT imaging by using critical anatomic landmarks
  5. Improve fluoroscopic and CT recognition and understanding of many common and some rare alimentary tract diseases and anomalies.
