Target Audience:    The course is aimed primarily for radiation physicist, radiation oncologist and radiation therapist who are keen to update themselves on the latest developments in brachytherapy

Course Description

Brachytherapy is a procedure of placing radioactive materials near or in diseased tissues as a means administer high doses of radiation. The primary advantage of internal radiation placed with the tumor is its ability to deliver a high radiation dose to the tumor while limiting the radiation that the normal tissues receive.

Course Aim

To cover the basis and general principles of brachytherapy: radiobiology of low and high dose rate, clinical aspects, QA procedures, image guided, dosimetry, source calibration, radiation production
To cover different technical and physical aspects of brachytherapy
To discuss clinical subjects gynecological cervix, endometrium, and other applications of brachytherapy
