Target Audience:     Medical physicists, Nuclear medicine technologists, PET and CT specialists

Workshop Description:

A short lecture discussing the basics of QC/QA tests for PET/CT scanners will be given before the hands-on practical.
In this show and tell workshop the participants will be walked through step-by-step demonstration of most aspects of the QC in PET/CT. The hands-on practical session will include the following tests/scans:

  • Daily PET and CT QC procedures will be conducted on the PET/CT scanner.
  • Steps of quarterly calibration will be shown and explained on the site.
  • On a water phantom image the verification of the activity quantification will be demonstrated.
  • Various Image artifacts will be presented and discussed

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding for the breadth of PET/CT's overall role in diagnostics.
  • Differentiate between the various PET/CT QC tests and their objectives.
