Golam Abu Zakaria, PhD

Prof. Dr. G. A. Zakaria studied physics at the University of Halle-Wittenberg in 1978, and post-graduated at the University of Gottingen and received his Ph. D in medical physics at Heidelberg University, Germany. Prof. Zakaria is the chairman of the Department of Medical Radiation Physics at Gummersbach Teaching Hospital of the University of Cologne and professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Koethen, Germany. Furthermore he has been invited as Guest/honorary/adjunct professor in many institutes or universities in Germany, Italy, China and Bangladesh. In January 2018, Dr. Zakaria is nominated as the Accreditation Committee-2 Chair (Radio-Oncology Physics) of the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB) and since September 2018 Vice Chair of the International Organization Medical Physics (IOMP) Accreditation Board. Prof. Zakaria has more than 35 years clinical and academic experiences in medical physics (both in Radiotherapy and Imaging) in Germany and also in the developing countries especially in Bangladesh and India. He has supervised numerous bachelor, master, diploma and doctoral thesis and has published more than 80 articles in journals and books. Prof. Zakaria is member of several scientific societies: DGMP, ESTRO, AAPM, AMPI (Life member) and BMPS (Honorary member).

Manzoor Ahmed, MD

Dr Manzoor Ahmed is an experienced Diagnostic Neuro-radiologist with more than 12 years of experience. Dr Ahmed trained in Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA in Diagnostic Neuro-radiology in 2003-2004. Have been affiliated with same institution for most of his career including Cleveland Clinic in UAE . He is currently working in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr Ahmed is a passionate teacher and participant in academic activities. Has been involved as a speaker and organizer in multiple national and international meetings in the Gulf region. His special interests in Diagnostic neuroradiology are Acute Stroke Imaging, Pituitary Imaging, Multiple Sclerosis and Head & Neck Imaging. On the non-interpretive side, he is an ardent advocate for Appropriateness in Imaging.

Prof. Kamran Ahrar, MD

Dr. Kamran Ahrar is a tenured Professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His primary appointment is with the Department of Interventional Radiology. His secondary appointment is with the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Ahrar received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Keck Scholl of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 1993. He received his Masters of Business Administration with Healthcare Specialization from the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University in 2015. Since joining the faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1999, Dr. Ahrar has served in many leadership positions including the Director of Quality Assurance for IR 1999-2002, Director of Research 2001-2003, Clinical Medical Director 2007-2015, and as the Chair of Quality Assurance 2012-2015. At present, he leads the efforts for expansion of IR services outside of Texas Medical Center. Dr. Ahrar was elected a fellow in the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and served on the Board of Directors for SIR Foundation as the Chair of the Clinical Trial Division 2012-2015.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Ainsbury

Liz is a Ph. D. physics graduate with 10 years of experience as a Radiation Protection Scientist at PHE's Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Effects. As head of the Cytogenetics Group and the Chromosome Dosimetry Service, Liz's main field of research is radiation biodosimetry - using the cytogenetic (cellular and chromosomal) effects of ionising radiation to estimate individual doses. The service is further underpinned by Liz and her colleagues' studies into the cytogenetic effects of ionising radiation and statistical methods to support research and development, and Liz also has an interest in wider radiation protection, particularly whole body radiation effects and radiation cataractogenesis.
Liz has participated in many national and international collaborative research projects including leading/co-leading recent projects developing statistical analysis methods for biodosimetry (EU FP7 MULTIBIODOSE WP6 lead, Royal Society IJP080153), advancing EU biodosimetry techniques and networking for provision of emergency response capabilities (MULTIBIODOSE, RENEB, WHO BioDoseNet, EURADOS). Liz currently co-leads two projects focused on development of biomarkers for radiotherapy patients - the NIHR HPRU project "Chemical and Radiation Threats and Hazards" in collaboration with Newcastle University and the US NIH funded CMCR "RTGene"project and is PI for a current EU CONCERT funded project 'LDLensRad' investigating mechanisms of radiation induced cataracts. Liz has presented at numerous scientific conferences and meetings, including giving invited talks, and has contributed to approximately 70 peer-reviewed publications, including around 20 as the first named author.
Liz has supervised a number of successful Ph. D. projects and regularly lectures on a number of courses at UK and EU Universities, including the Oxford University Radiation Oncology & Biology M. Sc. in Radiation Biology. Liz's current committee memberships include ISO Working Group 18 on biological dosimetry (2014 - current) and US National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements Subcommittee 1-23: Guidance on Radiation Dose Limits for the Lens of the Eye (2013 - current). Liz is a Member of the Institute of Physics (MInstPhys), the Society for Radiation Protection and the Association for Radiation Research.
In 2014, Liz received the MELODI Young Researcher Award for multidisciplinary EU low dose radiation research and in 2007 Liz received the inaugural Institute of Physics Very Early Career Woman Physicist of the Year Award for research and outreach activities encouraging young people to study physics.

Saad Ullah Akram, PhD

Saad Ullah Akram is Chief Scientific Officer at MVision AI, which he co-founded and where he is responsible for their image analysis solutions. He also holds a visiting post-doctoral position at Aalto University, Finland where he is supervising multiple PhD and M.Sc. students working on medical image analysis problems.
He has extensive experience of automating biomedical/medical image analysis tasks, including biological cell detection, segmentation and tracking from live-cell microscopy videos, mitosis detection from breast histological slides, organs and lesion segmentation from CT/MR scans, etc. In addition, he has also worked on few general computer vision problems, e.g. gesture recognition and pedestrian detection.
He obtained his PhD in computer science from Center for Machine Vision at University of Oulu, Finland in 2018; his M.Sc. degree in robotics from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in 2012; and his B.S. degree in electronics engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Technology, Pakistan.

Marc Benderitter, PhD

Marc Benderitter currently works in the Health Division at the Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN). He is head of a Department of Radiobiologie and médical countermeasure. Marc does research in Regenerative medicine for severe radiation side effects. His current project is 'Clinical Trial Cell therapy of Chronic Radiotherapy-induced Abdomino-pelvic Complications (Pelvic Radiation Disease, PRD) Refractory to Standard Therapy ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02814864'. Prof. Paul J. Chang, MD

Dr. Chang is Professor and Vice-Chairman of Radiology Informatics at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. Dr. Chang received his B.A. from Harvard University and his M.D. degree from Stanford University. Concurrent with his medical school training, he also received his M.S. degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford. Dr. Chang completed his residency and fellowship training in Diagnostic Radiology at Stanford University Hospital.
Dr. Chang is an internationally recognized expert in the field of imaging informatics and has been involved in numerous research and development projects related to imaging informatics as well as enterprise-wide informatics challenges. His early work in workstation design has resulted in presentation and navigation models that are widely used by the majority of PACS systems. While at the University of Iowa, he established and evaluated one of the first US rural teleradiology networks to provide primary interpretation. A novel lossless wavelet-based image distribution mechanism, dynamic transfer syntax (DTS), was co-invented by Dr. Chang, and enabled the development of one of the world’s first viable enterprise image distribution solutions. This technology was subsequently commercialized by the creation of Stentor PACS, which was acquired by Philips Medical Systems. This PACS system is used by several hundred hospitals worldwide and is a world-wide leader in market share.
Dr. Chang has been an early advocate for deep and granular IT system interoperability to support data driven informatics workflow orchestration in radiology. He has led the development of one the world’s first Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) implementations within a healthcare enterprise at the University of Chicago. Dr. Chang has been able to demonstrate that this SOA approach can be leveraged to improve efficiency and quality in image acquisition, interpretation, and results communication.
Dr. Chang has been member of the RSNA Radiology Informatics Committee (RIC), ACR Informatics Committee, and the ACR Commission on Clinical Research and Information Technology. He has served as a member of the ACR Council Steering Committee and Editorial Board of the JACR. He is an informatics consultant to the RSNA for the RadSCOPE electronic education initiative and the myRSNA portal. He has published over 70 peer reviewed articles, 11 book chapters, and has been awarded 8 patents. He has given over 600 invited lectures worldwide and has served as course director and/or faculty for over 200 courses for the RSNA and for the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) in PACS and radiology informatics. In 2002, he was named as one of the “Top 20 Most Influential People in Radiology” by Diagnostic Imaging. In 2005, he was inducted as a Fellow to the College of the Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR/SIIM). In 2010, he was named as one of the “25 Most Influential People in Imaging” by RT Image. In 2016, he was awarded the Gold Medal by the RSNA “for having revolutionized the practice of radiology through his expertise in the field of imaging informatics.”

François DeBlois, PhD, FCCPM

Dr. François DeBlois is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine since 2007. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2001 from McGill University and completed his clinical residency training at McGill University Health Centre in 2003. He worked at McGill University Health Centre until 2007. From 2007 to 2017 he was assistant professor at McGill and Chief Clinical Physicist at the Jewish General Hospital, a McGill teaching Hospital. He has supervised many graduate students and is an instructor in the McGill graduate medical physics program. Since 2017 he is head of physics at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montréal (CHUM). His main interests are medical physics software, devices and treatment techniques development.

Jan Demey

Jan’s initial playground is the area where business meets ICT and the other way around. From an education background in both areas, Jan started his consultant career at Ernst & Young (& spin off Knowledgeware), where he assisted large companies (banks, industry, public sector) in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering concepts and solutions. For this innovative approach Jan worked together with universities and the major ICT players like IBM (AD Cycle). At the introduction of Client/Server architectures, Jan became responsible for this C/S offering and projects.
Always being interested by innovative concepts, Jan started with some colleagues the company OO Partners. Having the context of VTM (as starting broadcasting company), OO Partners applied advanced technologies (Object Oriented) to develop scheduling solutions for the broadcasting market place (currently known as Mediagenics). Based on the experience of this development work, OO Partners started with Jan a consulting division, bringing these new ICT concepts to the market place. Large customers worked with OO Partners like Banque General de Luxembourg, VRT, Smalls, etc.
After the merge of OO Partners/consulting with Delaware Computing (ICT company of Bekaert), the new division- Delaware Object Technology Team – became an important market player for innovative ICT projects. Very complex turn-key projects (e.g. Engineering workbench for Pauwels trafo), innovative technologies (first web-based projects for Bekaert – POPS on the web) and international roll-outs of pointed solutions (Electronic Document Management integrated with SAP for Bekaert Global), where projects were managed by Jan.
After the transition of Delaware Computing from Bekaert to Arthur Andersen, Jan became first director and then Partner. Having the Business/technology background, Jan developed the E-business proposition for Arthur Andersen Belux, in collaboration with ArthurAndersen Worldwide. Next to this responsibility, Jan developed a successful alliance model between IBM and Arthur Andersen, and this mainly in the domain of Enterprise Application Integration (Beacon Award San-Fransisco 2000). Large customers like AXPO, Bekaert, Koramic, Delta Lloyd, etc. realised their business and EAI integration with our approach. Arthur Andersen Belgium joined forced in 2002 with Deloitte & Touche, where Jan became Partner for the Public Sector & Healthcare industry consulting solutions. Projects were done at INFOHOS, Ministry of Finance, ECC; NATO ( NAMSA), etc.

Tarek El-Diasty, MD

Tarek El-Diasty, MD, is a distinguished leader who is internationally recognized for his advancement of medical imaging and patient care in Egypt, and for forging partnerships with radiological societies throughout the world.
"Dr. El-Diasty has dedicated his career to improving radiology and patient care in Egypt," said RSNA President Valerie P. Jackson, MD. "An accomplished uroradiologist, he has made major contributions to research, education, and clinical care in his field."
Currently president of the African Society of Radiology and an emeritus professor of radiology at the University of Mansour in Egypt, Dr. El-Diasty is a veteran researcher in urology and nephrology. His work has focused on imaging of urinary bladder cancer, renal transplantation and interventional imaging, which is reflected in 2,210 citations and 28 H-index. He has made a significant impact on the direction of radiology research in Egypt.
Dr. El-Diasty received his medical degree from Mansoura Faculty of Medicine in 1979. After completing his internship and residency at that institution, he set upon establishing the first full-time uroradiology department in the country. The resulting program, the university’s Urology and Nephrology Center, remains the leading center of its kind in the region. More than 60 postgraduate students have completed their studies there under Dr. El-Diasty’s supervision.
In 2002, Dr. El-Diasty led efforts to fully digitize the department, employing an integrated PACS-RIS-HIS health information system. It became the first fully digital radiology department in the country.
A highly accomplished author and editor, Dr. El-Diasty has contributed to more than 125 peer-reviewed articles and 17 book chapters. He currently serves as editor-in-chief of the Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and as the senior (paper) editor of the urogenital section of the British Journal of Radiology. He has been a reviewer for numerous national and international journals.
Dr. El-Diasty is an ambassador for Egyptian radiology, establishing ties with international societies to improve global advancement of medical imaging and optimize the standard of patient care in uroradiology. He chaired the 13th symposium of the European Society of Urogenital Radiology, held in Cairo in 2006, and the International Congress of Radiology in Dubai in 2014. He served as president of the Egyptian Radiological Society from 2012 until 2018. He has conducted visiting professorships and completed visiting fellowships in multiple countries, including the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Denmark, Italy and the United States. He has spearheaded the Egypt Presents session that will take place during RSNA 2019.
He has received several awards from the Egyptian government in recognition of his career achievements and outstanding contributions to the development of radiology in Egypt and to international cooperation in radiology. Dr. El-Diasty was awarded honorary membership of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in 2013, and of the British Society of Emergency Radiology (BSER) in 2019.

Amr ElSaadany, MD

Amr Elsaadany graduated from Kasr Alaini University, Cairo, Egypt in 1994 from where he also received his master degree of radiology from in 2000. Dr. Elsaadany is a Fellow of Radiology from the Royal College of Clinical Radiologists London – UK (FRCR) in 2006 and received his European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) in 2014.
Currently, he is working as a Consultant Interventional Radiology Associate at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
His main interest is in interventional oncology.

Khaled Elsayes, MD

Dr. Elsayes is a Professor of Diagnostic Radiology in the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and in the Medical School of University Texas in Houston. Dr. Elsayes is a well-known world renowned radiologist with more than 300 peer review publications and abstracts, 100 visiting professorships, many presentations in international conferences and over 70 international awards (including 2014 RSNA honored educator award).
Dr. Elsayes is an imminent speaker in national and international conferences, fellow of Washington University in Saint Louis, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as several international societies, including the society of Abdominal Radiology. Dr. Elsayes has been an examiner of the American Board of Radiology and Saudi Board of Radiology. He is also editorial member of several international journals.

Samer Ezziddin, PhD

After graduation form Medical School in Frabkfurt a.M./Germany in 1997, Samer Ezziddin went on to a one-year residency in Medicine and Endocrinology at the University of Cologne. He passed the USMLE including the Clinical Skills Assessment in Philadelphia/MA, and achieved full ECFMG certification in 1999
During his residency and subsequent time as Assistant Medical Director in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Bonn he introduced 177Lu-based peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) in 2004 and developed the targeted therapy program. As the Deputy Director in Boon (2008-2014) he restructured and expanded the Radioembolization routine, achieved the first European dual-license for Resin and Glass Microsphere Radioembolization, and introduced intra-arterial PRRT.
His German PhD (Habilitation) in Nuclear Medicine focused on outcome predictors in PRRT. He is a well-recognized international expert on neuroendocrine tumors and targeted radionuclide therapy and has extensively published in the area of dosimetry and molecular imaging for planning and monitoring radioembolization (SIRT). The master thesis of his accompanying studies in Medical Device Clinical Sciences (MSc) at the University of Bonn addressed the different impact of radioembolization devices. Other fields of expertise and activities involve thyroid & prostate cancer and multimodality imaging (PET-CT, SPECT-CT).
Samer Ezziddin is a Member of the (10 man) Radionuclide Therapy Committee of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), the Therapy Committee of the German Society of Nuclear Medicine (DGN), the National Expert Group for Radioembolization (SIRTranet) and the Steering Committee for the CIRSE Registry for SIR-Microsphere Therapy (CIRT). Since August 2014 Professor Ezziddin is Head of Nuclear Medicine Department at Saarland University Hospital. With his therapeutic focus in oncology and devotion to targeted treatment he aims at individualizing and optimizing radionuclide-based targeted tumor therapy.

Francesco Fraioli, MD, PhD

Research:
Dr Fraioli has an outstanding track record at the cutting edge of his chosen field of hybrid imaging and, in collaboration with other colleagues, he has produced more than 100 publications on PET/MRI and PET/CT, making the Imaging Centre work recognised as one of the largest scientific production (number of publications) in Europe.
In 2019, he was awarded as full adjunct Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy and has taken responsibility of the PhD teaching programme for the Italian University of Rome. Dr Fraioli has contributed to secure more than £5 million as PI and Co-I and has published more than 100 publications with an outstanding record of more than 30% as first or last author. He is Editor, Co-editor or Author of more than 10 books and since his appointment the scientific production has constantly increased with papers published on Journal of Nuclear Medicine, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Am Journ Resp Crit Care Med, Nature, Neuroimage. He is also Associate Editor for the British Nuclear Medicine Society Journal and review papers for several peer reviewed journals.
He has regular invitations to chair and lecture at national and international meetings. His reputation is further demonstrated by collaborations not just at UCL, but nationally and internationally with colleagues at Imperial, Cambridge, Italy and USA.

Teaching:
Dr Fraioli is an inspirational and outstanding teacher and mentor. He teaches the UCL 4th year MBBS Respiratory Module (awarded as best teaching module in Medicine, monthly and among other London Universities). He has redesigned the module for the UCLH SpRs in Nuclear Medicine; now including visiting registrars brought in the country via the HEE sponsored clinical radiology training programme (2/year) and the European School of Radiology (1/year). He is the first supervisor for a new Nuclear medicine module in molecular imaging, first of its own in the UK. He regularly supervises clinical and academic trainees, including UCL undergraduate and postgraduate students (10/year).

Enterprise and external engagement:
Dr Fraioli has built strong and unique research collaborations with industry partners including GSK, IMBIO and Bracco. He represents the cross-UCL initiative supporting UCL academics' collaborations in research and teaching with partners in global cities across the world.

Institutional citizenship:
Dr Fraioli is a respected and committed mentor, having supervised 10 clinical and academic trainees, with the majority going on to pursue careers within academic, clinical-academic and commercial sectors in the UK and abroad. He contributes widely to the life at UCL. He is an active member of the UCL Cities Partnership program, regularly participate and chair the Grand Round and contributed to launch the UCLH research open day

Ali Guermazi, MD, PhD

Professor Guermazi is the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM), Boston, MA, United States. He is the founder and Director of the Quantitative Imaging Center (QIC) within the Department of Radiology at BUSM, a research group focusing on Musculoskeletal Radiology and especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that provides radiological analysis services for Industry, Foundation or National Institutes of Health-sponsored trials.
Professor Guermazi's research interest is imaging of musculoskeletal diseases, in particular the diagnosis and disease progression assessment of osteoarthritis using semiquantitative MRI scoring systems. He is also interested in imaging-guided musculoskeletal intervention. Dr. Guermazi’s team is world leader in sports medicine research.
Professor Guermazi was appointed the Deputy Editor of the musculoskeletal imaging section for the Radiology journal. He has authored or co-authored more than 450 peer-reviewed papers and made numerous scientific presentations at National and International osteoarthritis, rheumatology and radiology meetings. Professor Guermazi is the Imaging Expert to the International Olympic Committee for Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Robert Paul Guillerman, MD

Dr. R. Paul Guillerman is a Professor of Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of Academic Affairs and Faculty Development in the Department of Pediatric Radiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. His medical training included a radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology and a pediatric radiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Pediatric Radiology.
His clinical and research interests include pediatric chest, musculoskeletal, and tumor imaging, radiation risk assessment and dose optimization, clinical trial management and evidence-based clinical practice guideline development. He has authored or co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed medical journal publications and given over 100 invited lectures at national and international meetings. He is a member of the Image Gently Steering Committee, Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR) Musculoskeletal Committee, American College of Radiology Committee on Education – Pediatrics, and Children's Interstitial Lung Disease (ChILD) Working Group. He serves on the Board of Directors for the SPR Research & Education Foundation and as Co-Director of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Network.

Maryann Hardy, PhD

Maryann Hardy is Professor of Radiography and Imaging Practice Research. She also holds an honorary professor position at the University of Southern Denmark. She is passionate about advancing radiographic practice and promoting healthcare interventions and service delivery models that put the patient first. She considers imaging to be an essential diagnostic and treatment evaluation service in most, if not all, care management pathways. Her work focuses on how to adopt new technologies and effectively engage the skills of radiographers and other healthcare professionals to enhance and improve patient outcomes. She is a widely published researcher and author, a member of the UK Society and College of Radiographers and British Institute of Radiology, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and registered as a diagnostic radiographer with the HCPC regulatory body. She sits on a number of national and international bodies and panels.

Christine Higby, MA

Ms. Christine Higby has been in Radiation Oncology her entire career. She has been a Radiation Therapist, Department Manager, Director of a Cancer Center and became a Certified Medical Dosimetrist in 1990. In her current position at the University of Oklahoma she is Protocol Coordinator and Dosimetry Instructor for the Medical Physics Residents and the Medical Residents. She has been involved in site development of many programs including Prostate Seed Implants, Respiratory Gating, Department Design and Continuing Education. Her knowledge of the many facets of Radiation Oncology are contributing factors in the successful implementation of new programs.

She has worked both nationally and internationally, the most recent being Chief Medical Dosimetrist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Teaching and working in a variety of places provides her with an enhanced knowledge base for teaching and research. She has been involved in research in both the US and Saudi Arabia. Most recent research has been with Pediatrics in both VMAT options and evaluation of ongoing treatment utilizing ConeBeam imaging.

Hamid Mojibian, MD

Hamid Mojibian, MD, is director of cardiac CT/MR Imaging for Yale Medicine’s Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging.
He and a team of radiologists and cardiologists perform cardiac imaging studies to detect heart problems such as coronary artery disease.
In his role, Dr. Mojibian also performs minimally invasive interventional cardiac procedures such as thrombectomy to remove pulmonary embolisms. It’s a new procedure in which he inserts a device into the veins to the pulmonary artery that can remove blood clots blocking normal airflow to the lungs that cause the right side of the heart to fail.
“Patients come to us in a very dire situation and leave almost normal,” he says. The nonsurgical procedure can be done in an hour or two and is done through a small hole in the groin, leaving no scar. “It feels amazing that we can provide immediate, life-changing care for patients.”
Dr. Mojibian also performs a variety of other interventional procedures such as creating AV fistulas for dialysis using a safe, nonsurgical, outpatient technique. He enjoys working with referring cardiologists and nephrologists because providing the highest quality care, he says, requires dedicated teamwork.

Ola Holmberg, PhD

Dr. Ola Holmberg is the Head of the Radiation Protection of Patients Unit at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria – an organization within the United Nations family. He is a medical physicist from Sweden with radiotherapy experience from Skåne University Hospital, Malmö; Sweden, St. Luke's Hospital, Dublin, Ireland; and The Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam. Prior to his appointment to the IAEA in 2008, he was the Chief Physicist at Copenhagen University Hospital, Herlev, Denmark.
He is a co-founder of the Radiation Oncology Safety Information System (ROSIS, 2001) an international voluntary safety reporting system for radiotherapy, and has also participated as a Task Group member for the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) on prevention of accidental exposures from new external beam radiation therapy technologies, which led to the ICRP Publication 112.
Dr Holmberg has published scientific papers on radiation protection of patients in journals such as The Lancet. He has served as Course Director for ESTRO on radiotherapy treatment planning and has also lectured on prevention of accidents in radiotherapy in many different countries. He was the Scientific Secretary for the International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine - Setting the Scene for the Next Decade, held in Bonn, Germany, in December 2012, which led to the Bonn Call for Action – a joint position statement by the IAEA and the WHO, as well as for the International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine – Achieving Change in Practice, held in Vienna, Austria, in December 2017.

Mohammed Saiful Huq, PhD

M. Saiful Huq, PhD is the Director of Medical Physics at the Department of Radiation Oncology at UPMC CancerCenter, Vice President of Physics at D3 Oncology Solutions and Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Huq is responsible for the development of scientific activities of a large group of physicists and management of clinical medical physics operations of 21 cancer centers in western Pennsylvania, USA and one cancer center at Waterford, Ireland and one at St. Pietro, Rome. He has been an oral board examiner for the American Board of Radiology for the past ten years. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics and has published 130 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Huq has served in many capacities in various national and international organizations. He is a Fellow of both the British Institute of Physics and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and is a recipient of AAPM’s Farrington Daniels Award. In March 2010, Dr. Huq received the Distinguished Service Award given by The American Board of Radiology and in July 2010, he received the “Distinguished Medical Physicist for 2010 award” by the Indo American Society of Medical Physicists in the USA. He is currently the Chair of the AAPM Therapy Physics Committee and the AAPM Task Group 100 and is the Vice Chair of the AAPM Science Council. Dr. Huq has served on numerous AAPM Task Groups, notably TG-51. He has also served as an expert on many International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) initiatives, developing various documents (example, author of IAEA TRS398 CoP, IAEA/AAPM CoP for small field dosimetry) which provide guidance to the worldwide radiotherapy community regarding various aspects of cancer therapy using external beam radiation.

Prof. Siyong Kim, PhD

Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in medical physics in 1997 from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Subsequently, he underwent the clinical physics residency training for 2 years and then became an assistant professor at the University of Florida. From 2006 to 2013, he worked at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida as faculty and led in establishing an image guided radiation therapy program. Dr. Kim joined the VCU Department of Radiation Oncology in September 2013 as a professor. He is interested in developing dose uncertainty model, respiratory motion management strategy, compact CT, and MR simulator.

Vikas Kundra, MD, PhD

Doctor Vikas Kundra, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor and Director of Molecular Imaging in the Department of Radiology, U.T.- M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and has a joint appointment in the Department of Cancer Systems Imaging. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Harvard University and completed his training at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Body Computed Tomography-Magnetic Resonance Imaging and a Distinguished Investigator of the Academy of Radiology Research. In addition to his multiple clinical and basic/translational science papers Dr. Kundra is grant funded. He is and/or has been a principal investigator, co-PI or collaborator on several grants including from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Energy and Alliance of Nanohealth. In addition to being grant funded, Dr. Kundra is patented and has pending patents that include: Fusion Proteins Based on Somatostatin Receptors (2002) and Methods and Composition Related to In Vivo Imaging of Gene Expression (2005).

Prof. Jessica W.T. Leung, MD

Dr. Jessica Leung is Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is Section Chief of Breast Imaging at MD Anderson Cancer Center, overseeing the section's clinical operations, research and educational endeavors, and faculty development.
Dr. Leung graduated from Harvard University with summa cum laude honors followed by medical training at Harvard Medical School. She completed both her Diagnostics Radiology Residency and Women's Imaging Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Upon completion of her training, Dr. Leung has served as faculty a Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and UCSF. She ahs also served as Medical Director of the Breast Health Center at California Pacific Medical Center (Sutter Health), which is a large comprehensive nationally recognized breast center in San Francisco.
Dr. Leung has a long record of national service. Currently, she is a member of the American College of Radiology (ACRA) Committees on Economics, Education, and BI-RADS. She has also served on the ACR Committee on Government Relations and Stereotactic Biopsy. She remains an active clinical reviewer for the ACR Stereotactic, Biopsy Accreditation Program and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Accreditation Program and serves on a Board of Directors of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Dr. Leung has published practice-setting, peer-reviewed research studies and review articles in breast imaging. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and has received many awards and recognitions, including the American Roentgen Ray Scholar and UCSF Outstanding Teacher Award. She has been honored as Fellow of American College of Radiology and a Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging.

Robert J. Lewandowski, MD

Robert J. Lewandowski, M.D., FSIR, is a Professor of Radiology, Medicine, and Surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. In this capacity, he has trained > 100 fellows in Interventional Radiology. He serves as the Director of Interventional Oncology at the Northwestern University Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Lewandowski is a practicing interventional radiologist who specializes in liver-directed therapy; he has performed over one-thousand trans-catheter intra-hepatic intra-arterial therapies in patients with primary or secondary malignancies of the liver. Based on his clinical oncology program, he has authored or co-authored > 150 articles for peer-reviewed journals on the application of liver-directed therapies for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Lewandowski also performs pre-clinical oncology research in the Northwestern University Interventional Oncology Laboratory and Center for Translational Imaging. In this capacity, he is developing and evaluating novel oncology therapeutics, delivery mechanisms, and imaging modalities. Dr. Lewandowski’s research work has been supported by the National Institute of Health, American Cancer Society, the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation, and through industry collaboration via the investigator-initiated trial mechanism.

Ho-Ling Anthony Liu, PhD

Ho-Ling Anthony Liu, Ph.D., is a Professor and Director of the Imaging Physics Residency Program in the Department of Imaging Physics. Dr. Liu has more than 20 years of experience in advanced neuroimaging. His research interest is on development of perfusion and functional MRI methods for management of neurological diseases. He has been collaborating with clinicians and scientists in radiology, psychology and neuroscience, and serving as a PI or a co-investigator in research grants. He has authored over 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, lectured and chaired at national and international conferences and held symposia and hands-on workshops in related fields. He frequently serves as a reviewer for journals such as MRM, Med Phys, NeuroImage and PNAS, and for the ISMRM for many years. Dr. Liu’s current research directions include quantitative MRI for characterizing tumor microenvironment and precise functional localization with pre-surgical functional MRI.

After graduation from Fresenius Academy of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden / Germany in 1994, Stephan Maus successfully complete his advanced training at theTÜV Academie Rheinland, Mainz and achieved the full Quality Management Consultant / Q-Engineer certification.
Afterwards he went on to a two-year residency at SAAD Specialist Hospital Al Khobar, KSA.
During his residency time at Department of Oncology he was involved in the planning and implementation of the new local Health Science Center.
Subsequently he holds from 2006 until 2018 the position as the head of the radiochemical lab at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Nuclear Medicine at the University Medical Centre Mainz, Germany.
During this time he introduced new 68Ga- and 177Lu-based tracers for PET imaging and peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) and targeted prostate cancer treatment.
Since April 2018 he assumed a new challenge as a member of the study and research group of Prof. Dr. Samer Ezziddin, Director of the Dep. Nuclear Medicine, Saarland University Hospital.
Here his new passion is the research and development of new 225Ac- labelled compounds for α-therapy.

Osama Mawlawi

Dr. Mawlawi is a Tenured Professor of Imaging Physics and the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine Physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He started his Medical Physics career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York as a research assistant from 1990-1998. He later joined Columbia University School of Physicians and Surgeons as an Assistant Professor from 1998-2001 before coming to MDACC in 2001. Dr. Mawlawi has extensive expertise in PET imaging of biomarkers in preclinical applications and in Phase I-III clinical trials. His primary interest focuses on investigating factors affecting absolute quantification of PET/CT images. His ongoing research is aimed at developing novel techniques for PET/CT image acquisition, correction and reformation, as well as modeling the distribution of novel radiotracers. He has authored over 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters and is the recipient of several grants from industry and professional societies. Dr. Mawlawi is also an active member of several professional societies such as the SNMMI, AAPM, IEEE, RSNA and ACR where he serves in various roles such as task group chair, board member, or review committee and is the past president of the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine (ABSNM). Dr. Mawlawi also serves on multiple institutional committees such as the IRG, CRC, RSC, and ECFS. He has won numerous awards, most recently the MD Anderson's President's Recognition for Faculty Excellence Award in 2014. Dr. Mawlawi is frequently invited as a presenter at national and international conferences. He is board certified in Nuclear Medicine Physics and instrumentation by the ABSNM and in Diagnostic Radiologic Physics by the ABR.

Ajaykumar C Morani, MD

After completing his fellowship trainings in Body MRI, Abdominal Imaging, Neuroradiology and Pediatric radiology at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Dr. Morani joined Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2012 as Assistant Professor. In addition to his role as Abdominal and Pediatric Radiologist, Dr. Morani has additional responsibilities as Co-director of Pediatric Imaging. Dr. Morani works very hard towards improving quality of patient care. He recently did a project on Caipirinha parallel imaging technique at MD Anderson CC improving the quality of abdominal MRI in patients with poor breath hold capacity. He is also actively optimizing pediatric body MRI and CT at MD Anderson CC.
Academically, Dr. Morani teaches and mentors technologists, medical students, radiology residents and fellows from MD Anderson, Baylor, and UT Health Sciences Center. This involves one on one mentoring and lectures. Dr. Morani recently co-directed the “Oncologic Radiology and Interventional Radiology 2014” CME conference and “Pelvic MRI workshop” in India as part of M.D. Anderson global academic venture. He recently received an educational grant and is creating an educational curriculum for trainees on oncological imaging.
Dr. Morani is actively involved in educational and scientific activities in several prominent radiologic societies and is active reviewer of prominent radiology journals. He has several publications in prominent journals in the field.
Dr. Morani is active member of the Diagnostic Imaging Functional Finance Committee and he served as faulty consultant of the team working on “Insurance Denials in Diagnostic Imaging” project.
Dr. Morani has special clinical interests in pelvic oncologic imaging, abdominal MRI and non-neural pediatric solid tumors. His research interests include body MRI, rectal cancer imaging, non-neural pediatric solid tumors and desmoplastic small round cell/peritoneal tumors.

Tanya W. Moseley, MD

Tanya W. Moseley, MD (formerly Stephens) is a Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She co-chairs the Divisional Council of Gender Inclusiveness Committee at MD Anderson and is the Breast Section Chair of the Divisional Quality Functional Committee.
After completing diagnostic radiology residency and fellowship in chest and breast imaging at Mayo Clinic Rochester, she joined the faculty at Mayo in 1999. In 2001 she joined the faculty at MD Anderson and is a vital part of MD Anderson’s multidisciplinary breast practice. She has a keen interest in breast density and is planning a research trial to study breast density in high-risk patients.
Dr. Moseley is a co-investigator or collaborator on numerous projects with investigators within the institution and at other institutions. She has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, authored book chapters, lectured at regional, national, and international conferences, and is the Section Chair for the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Case-Based Imaging Review Course. She is also a SA-CME Consulting Editor for the ARRS.
She is an expert educator and directs the MD Anderson Breast Ultrasound Course for Surgical Oncology Fellows and Breast Imaging Technologist Education Program at MD Anderson. Dr. Moseley is working with MD Anderson’s Global Academic Program to develop an ultrasound biopsy teaching video to be shared with MD Anderson sister institutions.

Suresh K. Mukherji, MD

Suresh K. Mukherji, M.D., M.B.A., FACR received his M. D. degree from Georgetown University (1987) and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan (2013). He completed his Radiology residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 1992. He was a Neuroradiology Fellow, with emphasis on head and neck imaging, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida from 1992-1994. His first faculty position was at the University of North Carolina from 1994-2001. He was then recruited as the Division Director of Neuroradiology at the University of Michigan in 2001 where he became tenured Professor of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery. In 2013, he became Chair of the Department of Radiology at Michigan State University where he holds the Walter F. Patenge Endowed Chair.
Dr. Mukherji is a recognized authority in Head & Neck and Neuroradiology and has been an active contributor to the neuroradiology literature by authoring over 400 scientific manuscripts and book chapters and has written or edited 13 textbooks. He has been an invited speaker on nearly 400 occasions. His primary interests have been focused on investigating emerging metabolic and physiologic imaging techniques to evaluate head and neck cancer and to differentiate recurrent tumors from post-therapeutic changes in previously treated patients. These technologies include imaging with fluorodeoxyglucose analogues imaged with prototype Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography, Gamma Cameras, standard PET, and CT-PET. Other metabolic and physiologic imaging techniques he has investigated include Thallium-201, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, CT perfusion and CT spectral imaging.

Adel Mustafa, PhD

Dr. Adel Mustafa has obtained his Ph.D. in medical physics from Surrey University, England, UK. His past hospital and academic carriers include faculty positions at Kuwait University School of Medicine, New York Medical College, and currently at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Mustafa is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and the American Board of medical Physics (ABMP) in diagnostic imaging physics. Dr. Mustafa is an elected Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
For many years he served as member, co-chair or chair of several AAPM scientific and professional committees. Dr Mustafa is examiner with the American Board of Radiology on diagnostic imaging physics conducting Part 3 oral examination since 2004. He is member of the accreditation committee and Chairman of the Oral Examination committee of the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB).
His current clinical, teaching and research interests include image quality optimization, radiation dose management and quantification of disease conditions using multiple imaging modalities with particular interest in CT imaging. Currently leading a team of medical physicists and collaborating with scientists, radiologists and clinicians in areas of CT detection, quantification and optimization
Established Yale Diagnostic Medical Physics Residency under GMEC of Yale new Haven Hospital. He is currently the residency program director.

Roger Ordidge, PhD

Prof Ordidge is and an internationally renowned MRI physicist and recent director of the Melbourne Brain Centre Imaging Unit. He has published over 250 peer reviewed papers (10000 citations) and has received in excess of $20 million in research funding. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (F.Med.Sci.), a Fellow of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and listed in the international directory of Who’s Who.
Professor Ordidge’s research involves developing novel MRI techniques for use in biomedical research and providing imaging science support for clinical research studies. He is currently leading the development of the new 7T MRI scanner installed at the University of Melbourne in 2014, as well as the management of the new PET/CT system installed in 2012.
Professor Ordidge studied under Nobel Laureate, Sir Peter Mansfield with whom he helped to construct the first whole-body MRI scanner. The first images were on excised tissue including scanning of a tumorous breast following mastectomy, which showed the first useful contrast between intact normal and tumorous tissue. The system was, after approval, used to produce some of the first images of human volunteers. Professor Ordidge was co-developer of the commonly used Echo Planar Imaging (EPI) method (patent Ordidge and Mansfield), ISIS and associated image-guided in-vivo MR spectroscopy methodology and also introduced the first 3T whole body MRI system.

Colin G. Orton, PhD

I am an Emeritus Professor in the Radiation Oncology Department at WSU. I was the Chief of Physics and Director of the Medical Physics Graduate Program for over 20 years, and am still active within the program and within the AAPM. I regularly teach a seminar course on writing good journal articles and serve as a judge for the annual Graduate Student Research Award.

• I directed the Wayne State University Medical Physics Graduate Program for over 20 years which, at that time, was one of the top two programs in North America for graduating new entrants into the profession, and guided the MS and PhD programs through their first CAMPEP accreditation.
• I developed and promoted the use of high dose rate brachytherapy with fractionation schemes to make it safe and effective.
• While in London, England, I assisted in the development of the first high-energy linear accelerator in the UK to be moved into clinical use.
• In Detroit, I was part of the team that developed the world’s first superconducting cyclotron for use in neutron therapy.
• I have written or edited over 20 books and over 50 book chapters.
• I was the Editor of Medical Physics for nine years.
• I was President of many societies including the AAPM, ACMP, IOMP, IUPESM, and the ABS, and am the current President of the International Medical Physics Certification Board.

Michael Perkuhn, MD

Michael Perkuhn General Manager IntelliSpace AI Michael Perkuhn is General Manager for the IntelliSpace AI Venture at Royal Philips. Michael and the IntelliSpace AI team are responsible for developing AI solutions enabeling the integration of AI into the clinical workflow, creating new value across the health continuum with an initial focus on AI in Radiology.Michael received a medical doctor degree and master in electrical engineering from RWTH University Aachen, Germany. Beside the GM position he still keeps a parttime MD position leading the Computer Vision and AI lab at the Radiology Departement, University Hospital Cologne, Germany.Prior to this role, Michael was a Senior Director Research focusing on AI related clinica research addressing all parts of the Radiology workflow and driving interdisciplinary research. Michael holds multiple publications in the field of AI, MR and clinical related research.

Madan Rehani, PhD

Madan Rehani is currently Director of Global Outreach for Radiation Protection at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, and an Adjunct Professor at the Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, USA. He worked earlier for over 11 years at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria. He was Professor and Head of Medical Physics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India before joining the IAEA in 2001. He was also Head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Imaging Technology & Radiation Protection, which he established in 1997. He held faculty positions at different levels from 1977-2001 in different medical institutes in India. He is currently President (2018-2021) of the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP). He is a member of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). Under his chairmanship, 4 Annals of the ICRP have been published, and another 4 with him as member of the Task Group. He is Senior Editor of The British Journal of Radiology, Associate Editor of Medical Physics and was Assistant Editor of American Journal of Roentgenology for several years.
Rehani has made contributions in patient dosimetry in over 70 countries by his actions through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He established a website on radiation protection of patients; the smart card project for tracking radiation exposures of patients; research on radiation-induced cataract in the eyes of interventional cardiologists and support staff; research on radiation safety of children in developing countries; development of training material on radiation protection; and training of doctors using fluoroscopy outside radiology (cardiologists, urologists He also set up the EuroSafe Imaging program by the European Society of Radiology. He has recently developed a new concept on “acceptable quality dose (AQD)” to take into account limitations of diagnostic reference levels (DRLs), which have been used as an index in radiation protection for nearly three decades. He is currently Chair of the Program Committee of the IAEA International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine.

David Roberge, MD

Dr Roberge completed medical school at the University of Montreal (1997) before residency at McGill University (2002) and fellowships both at St-Jude Children’s Research Hospital (2002) and Stanford University (2003). He has authored more than one hundred peer-reviewed articles and other scientific writings. He has held leadership and consultancy positions in national and international organisations. He has a broad interest and expertise in radiation oncology (including imaging and artificial intelligence) but is best known for his work in the field of radiosurgery. He is currently head of radiation oncology at CHUM and full professor of radiology, radiation-oncology and nuclear medicine at the University of Montreal (as well as adjunct professor of oncology at McGill University).

Evis Sala, MD, PhD

Evis Sala, MD, PhD, FRCR, is the Imaging lead for the CRUK Cambridge Centre Integrative Cancer Medicine Theme.
Dr Sala is an academic radiologist with a special interest in Cancer Imaging. She is the Professor of Oncological Imaging at the University of Cambridge, UK. Previously, she served as Chief of Body Imaging Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Professor of Radiology, Weill Cornell Medical College in New York until December 2017. Before joining the Memorial Sloan Kettering in July 2012, she was a University Lecturer in Radiology and Specialty Teaching Director (Radiology) at the University of Cambridge, UK. She obtained her PhD from University of Cambridge, UK in 2000 and completed her training in Clinical Radiology at Cambridge, UK in August 2005.
She leads the Radiogenomics and Quantitative Imaging Group in the Department of Radiology. Her current research focuses on integrated diagnostics, through the clinical development and validation of functional imaging biomarkers to rapidly evaluate treatment response using physiologic and metabolic tumour habitat imaging. Her research in the new field of “radio genomics” has focused on understanding the molecular basis of cancer by demonstrating the phenotypic patterns which occur as a result of multiple genetic alterations that interact with the tumour microenvironment to drive the disease in several tumours types. Her work integrates quantitative imaging methods for evaluation of spatial and temporal tumour heterogeneity with genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. She is also working on development and clinical translation of several novel PET tracers.
Dr. Sala is active in many academic organizations. She is the Chair of Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) Oncologic Imaging Track, serves on the Oncologic Imaging and Therapies Task Force of RSNA and the Genitourinary Imaging Subcommittee of European Society of Radiology. She is a member of Board of Trustees of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) and The European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR). Dr Sala is an Editorial Board member and Head of Oncology Section of European Radiology. In recognition for her contribution to education and research in oncological imaging, she was elected as a Fellow of ICIS in 2014, a Fellow of ISMRM in 2015, a fellow of ESUR in 2018 and received the RSNA Honoured Educator Award in 2014 and 2017.

Adnan Sheikh, MD

Dr. Adnan Sheikh is an Associate professor of radiology and Vice Chair, Innovation and technology at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is the Medical Director, 3D printing at the Department of Medical Imaging, The Ottawa Hospital. He is also the Associate Editor of the journal 3D Printing in Medicine. In addition, Dr. Sheikh is the Director of Advanced Musculoskeletal interventions and Section head and fellowship Director of Emergency radiology at the Ottawa Hospital.
Dr. Sheikh received his medical school and radiology specialist training from India and completed fellowships in Musculoskeletal imaging and Emergency Trauma imaging from the University of British Columbia before coming on staff at The Ottawa Hospital in 2005. Dr Somanesan has 30 years of experience in Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at the Singapore General Hospital. His secondary appointments are Hospital Radiation Safety Officer and Operations & QA Manager, Cyclotron Facility of the Positron Tracers Pte Ltd besides being the chief, Radiation Response Team at Singapore Hospital. Jorge Soto, MD

Dr. Jorge A. Soto is Professor of Radiology at Boston University School of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Radiology, Boston Medical Center. Dr. Soto completed his medical training at the Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud in Medellin, Colombia, and then completed his residency training in Radiology at the same institution. He subsequently completed his fellowship training in abdominal imaging at Boston University School of Medicine. His primary interests are imaging of traumatic and non-traumatic abdominal emergencies and pancreatico-biliary imaging. Dr. Soto has more than 110 peer-reviewed journal articles, 65 review articles or book chapters, and is the editor of five books. Dr. Soto is Associate Editor of Abdominal Radiology and serves as reviewer for 11 journals. He has been named the Excellence in Educator Award of the Radiological Society of North America fives times and has received numerous additional awards and recognitions, including the Marshak Distinguished Lecturer Award of the Society of Abdominal Radiology. In 2018, he was named Honorary Member of the Sociedad Espanola de Radiologia e Imagenes (SERAM) and is Past President of the New England Roentgen Ray Society. He is Fellow of the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the American Society of Emergency Radiology. He currently serves as Chairman of the International Outreach Committee of the American Roentgen Ray Society and President Elect of the American Society of Emergency Radiology. He has been a Visiting Professor and invited speaker at numerous institutions and countries throughout the world.

Eric Stern, MD

Raymond Wu, PhD

Raymond K. Wu, Ph.D., DABR, DABMP, FACMP, FAAPM, FIOMP earned his PhD degree in Physics from Dartmouth College in USA in 1974. He completed his postdoctoral training in the Department of Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He joined Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia as an Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor with joint appointments in the Radiotherapy Department and the Nuclear Medicine Department. Since 1985, he held the position of Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk Virginia and served as the chief physicist in the Radiation Oncology department of its affiliated hospitals until his retirement from the academics in 2002. From 2002 to 2008 he was Chief of Physics in the Radiation Oncology Department of the OhioHealth Medical System in Columbus Ohio. From 2008 to 2015 he was the Chief of Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology & CyberKnife of the University of Arizona Cancer Center, and as the Chief of Physics of the Gamma Knife section of the Barrow Neurological Institute, both in Phoenix Arizona. Dr Wu is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB). Dr. Wu has been active in promoting the quality of medical physics. Ty Vachon, MD

Dr. Vachon brings applied clinical machine learning experience and informatics expertise to the lectern. He was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 2002 and after he earned his MD at the Uniformed Services University, he completed his internship and radiology residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his 16 year Navy career he achieved nationwide accolades in informatics and patient safety. His academic and scientific background includes multiple peer reviewed publications in orthopedics and radiology.

It was a natural progression to explore machine learning and Dr. Vachon spent years of self education learning about algorithm development, testing, validation as well as essential data science skills and data curation. After leaving active duty in 2018, he advises several small and large companies as well as established leaders in the field of clinical medicine, machine learning, informatics and process improvement. He has been recognized by the American Medical Association's Physician Innovation Network as a leader and he has served as an expert panelist on artificial intelligence in medicine. Prashant Shah, is the Global head of Artificial Intelligence for Health and Life Sciences (HLS) at Intel Corporation. He leads Intel’s efforts to develop IoT, datacenter and cloud based artificial intelligence platforms for medical imaging, electronic health records, genomics, and drug discovery. His work has led to the adoption of Intel’s AI technologies by over half of the WW medical imaging market, enabling AI to benefit patients, and clinicians to deliver precision healthcare. Many of the AI platforms have been widely adopted not only for HLS, but also by other industries.

Prashant is also an appointed AI advisor to National Institutes of Health’s ‘All of Us‘ precision medicine research program. This program aims to collect genomic, clinical, wearable, and environmental data of over 1 million participants for over 10 years, to allow researchers to establish the basis of wellness and disease. Over 300,000 participants have joined the study since its launch 18 months ago.

For over 19 years, Prashant has played a transformational role in developing technologies for precision medicine. Over the course of his career, he has built interoperability solutions required for data liquidity, and developed AI platforms to analyze the unlocked data. He has also advised national initiatives on healthcare data standardization and interoperability in the US, Europe, and emerging economies through the WHO.
