Change Management in Healthcare

In a complex environment as healthcare, we have many evolutions crossing other. Technology and medical innovation, more specialized care, new ways of healthcare services ( like homecare), collaborations in health clusters, privatization, patient empowerment,… we can continue a whole list of evolutions. Next to this, providing healthcare is and will remain a people driven business. From management to physicians, from nursing to technicians, from logistics to patient service team: all these different teams have a role in our healthcare system.

We position change management in healthcare at the cross read of these evolutions and the people driven organization. At this cross road we bring these evolutions to the patient through our teams and our people. A major challenge is how we can support our teams to cope with these permanent evolutions, so it will have a positive impact on our quality and efficiency of care providing. There is where change management will find his place and help us.

In this workshop we will present different change management models and discuss in what types of cross roads they can be applied. We will discuss with the participants where they encounter these challenges and if they recognize this resistance of change. More into detail we will discuss change challenges where technology is involved. Together with process improvement, technology innovation and change management, we will discuss how these 3 programs can work hand-in-hand.
