Ahmed Ba-Ssalamah is a medical doctor and Associate Professor of the radiology at the General Hospital of Vienna at the Medical University of Vienna where he is the head of the Body MRI division of the General and Pediatric Radiology Department. He is the Chief of gastro-abdominal scientific working group. His subspeciality is abdominal radiology and his field of interest in scientific research is abdominal imaging with focus on the pancreas-, hepatobiliary imaging as well as imaging of the gastro-intestinal tract, in particular oncologic diseases including gastro- and esophageal cancer. He has many publications in these fields and participated and presented papers in several national and international radiological congresses (RSNA, ECR, ESGAR, ARC, ICIS, IDKD, OeRC, DRG, WRS etc).

He is member of many radiological Societies Austrian radiological Society (Östereichische Röntgengeselschaft), European Society of Radiology, European Society of Gastro- and Abdominal Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, International Cancer Imaging Society. He is reviewer of many journals, European Radiology, European Journal of Radiology, JACT, Investigative Radiology, Gasteroenterology and Hepatology etc. He has 120 published articles and he is author of 18 book chapters
