Christine Higby has been in Radiation Oncology her entire career. She has been a Radiation Therapist, Department Manager, Director of a Cancer Center and became a Certified Medical Dosimetrist in 1990. In her current position at the University of Oklahoma she is Protocol Coordinator and Dosimetry Instructor for the Medical Physics Residents and the Medical Residents. She has been involved in site development of many programs including Prostate Seed Implants, Respiratory Gating, Department Design and Continuing Education. Her knowledge of the many facets of Radiation Oncology are contributing factors in the successful implementation of new programs.
She has worked both nationally and internationally, the most recent being Chief Medical Dosimetrist at King Faisal specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Teaching and working in a variety of places provides her with an enhanced knowledge base for teaching and research. She has been involved in research in both the US and Saudi Arabia. Most recent research has been with Pediatrics in both VMAT options and evaluation of ongoing treatment utilizing ConeBeam imaging.
