Date & Time: February, 25, 2016, Thurs 8:00-12:15
Venue: KFSHRC, MRI Unit- Radiology Department Room #5
Coordinator: Mr. Ahamed Masawi, MSc, MRI Services, Radiology Dept., KFSH&RC, Pager: 48413
Workshop Faculty: Abdullah Abu Jamea, PhD, Fahad Onaizan
Target Audience :
Medical Physicists,
MR Technologists
Bio-medical engineers.
Prerequisites: Knowledge on the basic physics of MRI.
Workshop Description:
The workshop is designed to cover the basic principles of MRI scanner quality assurance. The test which performed regularly by medical physicist or MRI Technologist. This includes: Intrinsic MR Image Quality Parameters, Accreditation Testing, Phantom Specification, Phantom Image Measurements, Magnet Homogeneity Evaluation, RF Coil Evaluation, The QC Standards, Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Phantom Setup and slice positioning, Geometric Accuracy Measurement, Spatial Resolution Accuracy Measurement, Image Uniformity, and Low contrast Detectability.
Learning Objectives:
The attendance of this work shop should be able to know the process of MRI Quality Assurance procedure. They should be able to use a slandered QC phantom regularly to measures the basics image quality parameters and give the recommendation to medical imaging department in how to optimize it.
